Talking about your rural house is like talking about your children, for you they are the most wonderful thing in the world and you can only say good things. We could not be better located, although that depends on what each one seeks. We are rural but we are not lost in a mountain. At 1km you will find the town center with its restaurants and shops and 10 km from Santiago de Compostela. The farm has 4 hectares and the road that accesses it is private. No cars are heard, just the singing of birds and the croaking of frogs. There are multiple corners to stop and enjoy the silence. Also a lush vegetation, thanks to the Galician climate. We are in a high, in fact the house is built on a rock. This allows you to have beautiful views of the Ulla Valley, but also of the Pico Sacro, the highest mountain in the area In the interior, its walls of more than 1 meter wide are the sample of the good work of yesteryear. The decoration combines antique hand-carved furniture with exposed stone walls and many details such as fresh flowers. We have a beautiful garden where we grow all kinds of vegetables, which we then use to prepare homemade dinners but with a more modern touch.

We are all used to visiting the most touristic places in the countries or regions where we spend our vacations. Partly because they do not last for many days and you have to choose where to go. This means that sometimes we lose interesting places, which, not being less known, means that it is less worth visiting. A few kilometers away is the Sacro Peak. There are many legends about this mythical mountain. There the apostles of Santiago stopped when they passed through this land, to ask for help the Queen Lupa. Former site of a monastery, it is now one of the most visited sights. The Romans tried to take gold from the mountain and built a road that goes through her skirt. That Roman road is now part of the Camino de Peregrinos, Vía de la Plata. From Casa de Casal you can make the last 14 km to the cathedral or go the other way, going through a leafy forest until you reach the Santiaguiño Chapel. To 4 km the route of the Mills in the municipality of Vedra. It is a small route of little more than half an hour, under an impressive oak grove, that takes us to several restored mills. The Ulla river is located 8 km away, thanks to which we enjoy a warm temperature all year round. In the Ulla river there are several recreational areas to enjoy its fluvial beaches: Agronovo and Areal de Berres. We are in an area of ​​Pazos, the best known are the Pazo de Oca, belonging to the family of the Dukes of Medinaceli, where there are old trees and a garden that can be compared to that of Versailles. Also the Pazo de Ortigueira, belonging to the family of the General Armada and dedicated to the cultivation and study of camellia. In both pazos you can visit the gardens. A little further away is the Romanesque monastery of Carboeiro, also linked to the Jacobean tradition. It is worth visiting, not only for its architecture, but also for the place where it is located. It is close to the Toxa River Falls, in fact there is a hiking trail linking the falls and the monastery.
