Jarilla is a small town belonging to the province of Cáceres, in the western area of the Sierra de Gredos. With few inhabitants, it is an ideal place to disconnect and spend a quiet vacation.
One of the most striking buildings is the parish church of San Gregorio Magno. Its construction took place in the 16th century, although it had some remodeling around 1852.
At the top of a hill on the outskirts, the remains of an ancient Roman temple are well preserved. It is in the Cerro de Piedraslabradas. It is a construction with a rectangular plan, made with granite material.
Not far from here you can visit the Caparra Interpretation Center, another carefully preserved Roman citadel. You cannot miss the Valle del Jerte, especially if you go in the time when its cherry trees bloom.
