In the surroundings of the town of Molinás we can find the ruins of the Castillo de Molinás, an old medieval fortification from the 12th century that was predisposed as the line of defense against possible French invaders.

What remains in this enclave are only remains of which the Torre del Homenaje stands out as the most integral element, as well as several of the interior walls and various semicircular arches, but what matters in this case is not the incorruptness of the monument, but precisely the opposite. The decay shown by the rubble of this construction carried out by the hand of man and invaded by nature, shows a beautiful picture of the passage of time and the little importance of the human being.

Also in the region of Alto Ampurdán we find an example of the opposite of the above, in a perfect state of conservation is the Monastery of San Quirico de Colera, a sanctuary dedicated to the Christian faith that is preserved with hardly any changes since it was built in the 9th century, except for those that have been made periodically for its expansion since the religious community it housed grew until in the 19th century, with the confiscations, it was dissolved and its assets were sold, which passed into private hands until in 1994 it was sold almost charitably to the city council of the municipality of Rabós.
