El Batán de las Monjas

In a campsite in the middle of nature, next to San Nicolás del Puerto (Seville), we have this renovated farmhouse in the form of apartments dedicated to rural tourism. The views are excellent, you can breathe great tranquility, there is so much life around... It is a perfect environment to participate in the many activities that take place on the premises and enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the Sierra Norte.

The farmhouse has 12 beds, which can be increased to 18 with the help of extra beds, divided into 6 double apartments. Bed linen is included.

Each room has its own style and colours, which extend to the decoration, furniture and even the tiles in the bathroom, which is different in each room, although they all have the same equipment.

In the same space as the bedroom and the living area we have the kitchen, small and discreet but effective, with equipment that includes refrigerator, electric stove and microwave.

All the apartments have a terrace, with a table and chairs to sit and contemplate the views of the Huéznar riverbank and the green grove that surrounds it. The is underfloor heating. The decoration is rustic, with wood present both on the floors and on the ceiling beams, which transports you to another era and gives the whole space a homey and traditional touch.

In the building you will find a natural cuisine restaurant, where typical regional dishes are prepared, including mountain stews, sausages and Iberian meats. It is an incredible opportunity to enjoy the local gastronomy without straying too far from the accommodation. In addition, they accept reservations for large groups and for events and meetings, throughout the year.

Not far from the establishment there is a bicycle rental station and the parking area, for a better range of options in terms of travel to and from the accommodation.

San Nicolás del Puerto, the municipality in which the farmhouse is located, is a town with a long historical tradition, which is reflected in its architectural heritage, especially, among other examples, in the Church of San Sebastián, in the Mudejar style, and the Roman bridge over the Galindón ; in the latter there is also an artificial beach which is very popular with tourists in summer.

To the west, entering the Sierra Norte Natural Park, we will find the Cascadas del Huéznar, a beautiful natural monument of waterfalls and pools, surrounded by a riverbank of forests and riparian vegetation.

In the direction of Constantina, another charming town in the park, we come across the Cerro del Hierro, a monumental karstic formation that, in addition to its great scenic value and as a place of climbing, has a long history behind it, which starts from the pre-Roman mines that were excavated in it.

Without leaving the Sierra Norte Natural Park, we can continue visiting its rural enclaves, all of them with a history to discover and historical heritage that portrays the passage of history through them: El Pedroso, Cazalla de la Sierra, Alanís or Las Navas de la Conception.
