Albergue El Cantu

This rural hostel is located in the Asturian parish of Colombres, forming part of Ribadedeva. Its facilities were built by an artist who had previously been in charge of emblematic buildings in the area, converting this space in his private home around 100 years ago.

It is divided into 2 buildings where you can stay up to maximum of 130 people. It is a great place for groups of young people to attend the summer camps we organize. But also for those who are traveling the path of Santiago that passes next to where we are.

On the one hand we have what was once the main house. In it there are seats for up to 70 guests. They will be distributed along 2 floors in spacious rooms. On the ground floor there are 2 rooms, both for 18 people each, with their own bathroom to share among those who stay in them.

On the next floor we find up to 4 rooms, one equally for 18 guests and with bathroom, and another 3 for 6 each that will share another bathroom. All of them have several showers and toilets so you do not have waiting problems.

The facilities of the entire hostel are in perfect condition, since was restored in 2008. They are painted with a very bright blue color that contrasts with the dark wood of the furniture, the ceilings and stairs. Which is accentuated with the large windows that are in all rooms.

The squares are still increasing in what were once stables. There we found 8 rooms, of which 6 have bunk beds 8 people and 2 for 6, which makes this building has space for up to 60 guests. Here you have available 4 bathrooms.

There is food service possibility, to consult. And to take them we have 2 large dining rooms in which they will be able to be up to 103 diners at the same time, one for 55 and others for 48.

In this place you will be able to rest in a peaceful environment and at the same time have fun with the activities and the camps that we carry out ourselves. For this we have some facilities and outdoor perfectly conditioned.

Those who wish to stay in the area, but prefer more privacy, we also have available a rural hotel con double rooms, just attached to this hostel.

We are in the village of the Asturian parish of Colombres. It is the capital of Ribadedeva and its population exceeds 1,000 inhabitants, although divided into 4 towns.

It is an area marked by diversity, because we can access spaces with abundant nature and to isolated areas in just a few steps. Good example of this is the beach of La Franca, with a large extension and forests behind it.

Here you will be able to discover the history of the Indians, through the various constructions that they left in the area or visiting the archive and museum of La Quinta Guadalupe.

Also of interest in the place, is the lighthouse of San Emeterio, which guides the ships that approach the coast; and the cave of Pindal, where to discover more about our ancestors and see the cave paintings they left behind.
