Albergue La Brena

In Rasines, Cantabria, 10 minutes from Laredo and among the natural parks we found this rural hostel, made up of two houses joined by a porch and an annex apartment.

Because of its distribution, location and activities carried out related to nature and the environment, it is ideal for large groups, such as schools, and for families.

The accommodation space is distributed in 4 rooms and the apartment. These 4 rooms, each with its own name and characteristics, can be modulated so that each group has its own room and bathroom.

The Room Asón is a large room with capacity for 16 people, distributed in single beds in bunk beds of 2; has its own bathroom outside the room, fully equipped for several people. The room Pozoalagua is somewhat smaller, with 12 seats in bunk beds and a bathroom, also outside the room. The Covalanas has room for 12 people and a common bathroom, this one inside the room. Finally, the room Laredo distribuye sus 10 seats in 3 rooms: 2 rooms for 4 people and one for 2 people, with common bathroom for all.

On the other hand, with other very different characteristics, we have La Casuca del Uncle Lipe. It is an apartment that can be rented complete, with its 6 seats distributed in 2 rooms: one with double bed, and the other with 2 beds and a bunk. There are no cupboards or storage space, and being on an upper floor you get beautiful views of the countryside from the windows. The apartment also has living room, with a brick fireplace and a television ; the kitchen, with all the necessary equipment, is American style, and breakfast island separates it from the living room. The wooden beams of the room give it that rustic air that all the hostel's sites share. The full bathroom, with shower and design that combines the rustic with the modern, is on the ground floor, next to the kitchen and the living room. Outside is a garden of 60 square meters.

The hostel also has a series of common areas for the hostellers, being especially important the multipurpose room, with a size of 100 square meters, which offers the possibility of organizing events and meetings for large groups.

These events and celebrations can be extended or moved to the j arcade, of 700 square meters, more than enough space to organize games and multitudinous activities. To the outer space is added a space of 10 000 square meters for the realization of activities, type seminars or camps; equipment is also available for these activities and cleaning area to keep the material washed. There is also an e covered space, for carrying out activities even if the weather is bad. There is a common kitchen, for the preparation of homemade meals with local products.

There is the possibility of renting the entire hostel exclusively, but a minimum of 20 places is necessary for this. This option is perfect for groups that come to perform specific activities, such as schools or hikers.

In the hostel multiple activities of leisure and adventure are organized, which can be consulted to participate in them. However, the surrounding environment lends itself to all kinds of excursions and adventures that guests can do on their own. X
Rasines, the municipality where the hostel is located, offers multiple possibilities for the practice of adventure sports, rural tourism and outdoor activities. However, you should not miss his architectural works, of historical and artistic value, such as the church of the sixteenth century. As for religious architecture in other places, it is also worth noting the church of San Sebastian, in Ojebas, with a prechurrigueresque altarpiece and another from 1712. In the surroundings of the city there are also prehistoric caves, among the which highlights the paleolithic park of Cueva del Valle, in Helguera.

The lodge is also close to Armañón Natural Park, with impressive panoramas of the native nature, as well as the system of Pozoalagu caves a, a pleasant visit to contemplate an interesting geological formation.
