This shelter is located within the Sierra Nevada Natural Park (limiting with the National Park) in the Almeria municipality of Abrucena, surrounded only by extensive fields with nature where to carry out activities.
It is the great place to go with children. Especially families, groups and schools that want to spend a few days in a quiet environment and where they can learn and have fun, or rather learn having fun.
It has a capacity for 42 people. Expandable with supplementary beds up to 54 places.

The complex consists of 2 buildings: one with bedrooms, bathrooms, dining room and kitchen, and another annex in which there are several thematic rooms where to perform workshops. That can be astronomy, biology, crafts... all equipped with the appropriate materials for it.
We also have a spacious lounge to perform other activities and meetings in which we have incorporated a large television.

Both buildings are provided with heating, hot water, chimneys and biomass stoves.

My name is Mara, I am the shelter manager, an enthusiastic person of nature and the field. I like to lead a healthy life and work in this environment of Sierra Nevada is a privilege.
I have a team of environmental educators since our beginnings in 1998, being the main objective of our company to publicize this surroundings of Sierra Nevada, carrying out leisure, educational and entertainment programs.
We are convinced that knowing and learning about the environment leads us to respect and protect it.

The shelter architecture is worthy of mention, integrated and respecting the environment. It is an ancient farmhouse that was rehabilitated with the typical materials of the area, stone walls (shales) and roofs of Launa. Inside we can savor the tradition and taste for the legacy of our ancestors; as to its exteriors with the ancient era, the parratas and the balsa del Cortijo.
It offers a wide range of offers to carry out sports activities such as hiking with routes of all levels and some Sulayr sections (GR that runs Sierra Nevada), routes for mountain bicycles, climbing schools, descents with rappel, or simply walking.
From here you can carry out some of the Almeria summits of Sierra Nevada such as La Polarda, El Almirez, El Buitre, El Chullo.
