Who doesn't like to enjoy a holiday while saving money? You've probably often wanted to travel but have been held back by finances. If this is your case, don't worry because there are cheap rural houses all over France to make travelling much easier for all budgets.
You will need to be flexible when it comes to travelling, since saving money has a lot to do with being able to adapt to the seasons and planning your destination.
A trip is an investment, but in these cases and following some tips that we are going to give you, you can do it without putting a lot of money at stake.
MAKE A BUDGET
Have you ever gone to buy something and come out with a lot of things you didn't need? We're sure you have, and that has a lot to do with not having previously set a budget.
When travelling, and especially if we want to save a little, it is important that we set a limit on how much money we want to spend, and stay within that budget to avoid unnecessary expenses.
Knowing how much money you have is important to know how to invest it well.
BE FLEXIBLE WITH DATES
As you know, during high season the rates of any accommodation tend to skyrocket due to the higher demand, so we recommend that in order to save money, you should be flexible with the dates you are going to travel.
To enjoy a rural house and save money, you should book your house during the low season, so if you have the possibility to travel at any time of the year, it is best to do it during the "low" seasons for tourism.
Also, if you are going to travel by plane for example, choose the least comfortable times to fly, which are usually much cheaper.
DO YOUR OWN SHOPPING
If you have already found a cheap rural house to enjoy your holidays, you have to pack your suitcase and organise your day-to-day life.
Did you know that we spend a lot of money by going out to eat when we travel? For this reason, the best thing to do is to find a supermarket beforehand and use your budget to do the shopping.
As well as buying what we want, if we cook at home, we can have our own schedule.
CHOOSE YOUR DESTINATION WISELY
Places like Paris, Marseille or Bordeaux, among others, are the most touristic destinations and therefore the most expensive ones in France, so if possible, avoid them when looking to rent your rural house.
Instead, choose to book an accommodation in less crowded and lesser-known villages, where you will not only find cheap accommodation, but you will also be able to experience the French tradition in every corner. If you want to visit important towns and cities, you can spend the day there and then return to save on accommodation and not miss out on anything.
