In the region of Alto Vinalopó in the province of Alicante there’s a municipality called Biar, a destination where you’ll be able to enjoy a patrimony completely full of history with distributions of remains of old communities.

There are also two symbols of their civil architecture. The first one is the Puerta de Játvia and the other is the Puerta de Castilla, but they are known as the arch of San Roque and the arch of Jesús. Both are significant as they were both entrance points to the fortress.
In terms of religious patrimony, in Biar there are a lot of important temples including the iglesia de la Asunción which is a gothic style church, or the Santuario de la Virgen de Gracia and various chapels like the Santos de la Piedra, Santa Lucía, de la Virgen de Loreto and de San Roque.
Another few key features you can see by taking a walk through its old town is the city council building and the cultural centre (Casa de la Cultura) which was originally a palace built for Los Colma in the 18th century which has now been converted into a cultural centre where you can see the convent of Capuchinos, the aqueduct and the snow pit and that today puts on a lot of expositions for you to enjoy.
It is a town with lots of mesmerising spots you can take pictures of so its memory and reputation for being such a gorgeous place can live on forever.
So, how do you get here? This gem is surrounded by valleys adorned with gorgeous greenery and can be reached in several different ways. Even though coming in car would be the easiest way, you can also get here by train and even by plane with a 40km bus ride to from the airport to Alicante on the other end.
