Today, we encourage you to explore Cué on your Asturias rural vacation. It is a small town only 2 kilometres from Llanes, surrounded by the Cantabrian Sea's waves.
With fewer than 300 people, the municipality is small and charming. Cué Beach, a 380-meter-long peaceful cove surrounded by rocks, is its most striking feature. Cue's recreational area, which provides spectacular views of the sea and some small islets off the shore, is located on these cliffs.
What can you observe in the surrounding areas? As we previously mentioned, the parish is within a short distance from the town of Llanes. This town is full of old buildings and monuments, and there are many fascinating attractions to see. The medieval wall, the keep, and the palatial house El Cercau are among them.
The Basilica of Santa Maria is the town's most prominent ecclesiastical structure, but the port is its most prominent feature, thanks to the artwork of 'Los Cubos de la Memoria,' which are colourfully adorned breakwaters. Llanes is well known for being a popular site for filming in Spain. Perhaps you are familiar with some of the city's streets and squares.
And what if you wish to engage in some physical activity? Well, in that case there are various defined hiking trails, and we highly recommend those that follow the shore for panoramic sea views.
If you are wondering about places to stay, Cué has several rural and tourist houses and flats to choose from. Many of them feature architecture influenced by Indian culture, which is typical of this region.
Of course, comfort goes hand in hand with not just accommodation, but also gastronomy. Nothing beats trying one of Llanes' famed cheeses or a hot dish of verdinas, a small bean type.
If you're interested in culture and customs, come to the village during the San Antonio de Padua festival, when the Pericote, a traditional dance from the area, is performed.
As you can see, Cué is the ideal place to reconnect with yourself, accompanied by the Cantabrian breeze and the lush green Asturian meadows.
