Do you want to know what will you see if you travel to Sevares? Well, let us tell you in advance that some of the main spots of the Spanish geography.
Can you imagine opening your windows and enjoying the panoramic view of the Picos de Europa? Well, it is possible in this parish. A privileged landscape to immortalise, which is also located in the small region of Sueve.
All this, bathed by the waters of the river Piloña, will make this trip a unique experience. Fishing lovers will love to visit this area, which has a large number of trouts. In addition, Sevares belongs to Villar de Huergo, a place that in turn, is made up of different villages that will show you their most traditional part and their intact culture, dotted with the green of its valleys, with traditional horreos (traditional Asturian elevated granaries).
In the surrounding area you will also be able to enjoy part of its history in the form of colonial houses, a perfect example of which is the Casona de Sotiello. And nearby, in the neighbourhood of El Corriellu, you can visit the chapel of Nuestra Señora la Virgen del Corriellu, which dates from the 17th century.
And let's not forget the gastronomy either, in this corner of the Piloña area, there is a rich gastronomy with a wealth of products and a great variety of them, forming a recipe book in which foods such as trout, roe deer, venison and wild boar are a constant feature. And all accompanied by traditional Asturian cider.
Sweets are also common here, especially those made from hazelnuts, which is perhaps the most typical product of the area.
Finally, if you plan to visit Sevares in June or September, you will find two of its major celebrations: Corpus Christi and the celebration of the town’s patron festivities, respectively.
