Sourroundings of Bekoa de Arteta Landetxea
Arteta is a quiet Navarrese town of 54 inhabitants that stands out for having the ethnographic museum of the kingdom of Pamplona. This museum contains goods and devices related to the manufacture of wine dating from the medievo to the 1940s, at which time the automatic machines appeared. These devices represent the modes of life, crafts, traditional games and clothing.
In this town, the Saleras, dotted with eras where the water to get salt by evaporation can also be visited. Once the water is evaporated, the salt is piled up in mountains to protect it from the inclement weather and leaves and insects and to finish drying.
Following a path that takes place near the Salas, you reach the Nacedero del Arteta, a spring that arises from the underground rivers that pass through the Sierra de Andía. In the Nacedero is the Water Interpretation Center that explains how and where this river is born. Beyond the spring, the cascade of Artazul can be seen, although if it rains strongly it is possible that the track is flooded.
