We are in Torla, a small town located north of Huesca, bordering France. It is located flanking the entrance to the Ordesa Valley, nominated World Heritage by Unesco. It covers a wide area of valleys and ravines through which the Arazas river flows forming waterfalls.
This Valley was also named National Park in 1918, being the second park in Spain to receive this title. In 1982 it was extended to 155,608 hectares to form the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido. Its ecosystems include glaciers and pine forests, which harbor creatures such as marmots.
Adjoining this park is the Bujaruelo Valley, which is used primarily as a place for pastures for different types of livestock. It is named place of community importance along with the Throat of the Navarros and animals in danger of extinction as the Pyrenean brown bear or the desman of the Pyrenees use it as home.
