Casa Cañizo - Casas Los Abuelos

We present you this beautiful rural house, a old barn built in 1930 that has been renovated to offer comfortable accommodation to those visitors who want to visit Benízar, Moratalla (Murcia) and its surroundings.
Surrounded by , a rich natural heritage , you can enjoy the exclusive places of inland Murcia.

The house has capacity for 6 people . Within it there are the following rooms:

• 2 bedrooms with a double bed each. They are simple rooms that share a rustic charm, with wooden sloping ceilings. One of them offers views of the nearby mountains.

• One bedroom with 2 single beds . The beds are separated by a bedside table on which there is a reading lamp . In addition, the room is heated with a heating device .

• 2 bathrooms . One of them is a simple toilet, while the other is a complete bathroom that has a bathtub behind a thick shower curtain. In both cases it has WC, bidet and washbasin.

• Living-dining room . It is the main common room of the house. There is a sofa near the flat screen TV . There is also a dining table made of wood, with space for 6 people.

• Kitchen . It is an open and quite spacious space, very well equipped with modern appliances. Among them there are, for example, washing machine and microwave. For cooking there are 4 gas burners .

The best views of the town of Benízar can be enjoyed from the garden of the accommodation, a large space with well-kept plants and a outdoor dining area .

In addition, there is an old wood oven and a barbecue to put some new recipes into practice.
No pets in the house.

Benízar is one of the districts that belongs to the municipality of Moratalla (Murcia). Back in 1960 the town was divided into cortijos or groups of houses, well defined, when entering the town was La Tercia, currently it has grown but is still La Tercia, the highest part of La Tercia was called El Altico.

Following the road we find on both sides of it, buildings built in the last 60 years, this road was called La Senda, in those years it was an orchard area on both sides without any buildings, at the end of La Senda currently (Avd. Teleclub) was La Fábrica.

At that time there was a factory where they grind wheat , we continue walking and we find the first ravine, where the women of that time, washed. On the left hand side, just before entering the bridge of the ravine we have a path that gives us access to the Fresh Fountain, where we can also see a laundry built years after the 60s.
We return to the ravine and already passing it to the left we begin to climb the first buildings that we find are El Cortijo Abajo, we continue climbing and the last buildings are located in El Cortijo Arriba, a little higher we have the mill and La Source Above . Here was a boiler where lavender essence was made, which lasted until about 1975.

The lowers water from Calar through narrow natural ditches, poplars and other trees, and on the other hand it springs from a small cave, joining in a trough, it is a beautiful spectacle, the water falls towards the Mill and a small waterfall. Returning to the first ravine, we continue towards the end of the town.
The town stands out for having the ruins of an old castle , located on a hill above the municipality. Its main parish is the church of Santa Bárbara .

In addition, it has a lot of natural heritage, such as the geological structure called the Abrigos de Benízar , and numerous fountains and springs.
