Casa de la Abuela

We are at Taberno (Almería ), at the La Capellanía farm, surrounded by fields of olive, vineyard and almond trees, with the mountains as a frame and nature as the canvas on which this charming rural house is painted, in a farmhouse of more than a century, full of peace and a rustic air that promises the best of the countryside within the reach of the visitor.

The house, with capacity for 6 people, has 3 bedrooms. 2 rooms have double bed, and the other 2 single beds. All the beds are dressed and comfortable, as well as the rooms are spacious and full of light, with an adorable rustic style that gives them a familiar and calm atmosphere.

We also have a dining room, which we find as soon as we enter the house. This room is fully equipped, with a large sofa facing a large wood-burning fireplace, for which we have a free charge. We also have a television, with DVD, and a collection of games, to make it easy for guests to stay entertained for as long as they stay inside the house. Added to this is internet access via wifi, so they will not have to be completely disconnected from the world.

The kitchen, discreet and collected, is of a good size and has all the necessary services to cook homemade meals so that the guest does not have to miss them during their stay: in addition to ceramic hob and microwave, we have a dishwasher so as not to waste more time washing the dishes used, and to be able to dedicate ourselves solely to enjoying the stay.

The house has a bathroom for each room, and you will find them well equipped, with showers and more than enough space in them. In the whole house you can also enjoy central heating, which keeps it at a pleasant temperature in the coldest seasons.

The guests will have some facilities that are common for the 3 houses of the estate. There is, first of all, the parking area, available to all customers without the need to reserve, and also a laundry and ironing service.

Outside there is a large garden, where the space is divided into several areas. There are the terraces, with rustic garden furniture, and a swing park for children that will delight the little ones. There are 3 barbecues, covered and uncovered, for when you fancy a meal prepared and enjoyed outdoors. In the summer season there are some saline water pools, well maintained and where you can take a pleasant dip to clear your mind and recharge your batteries.

Guests, in addition to the activities and possibilities offered by the rooms mentioned, are also entitled to other common services outside the house.

pets are allowed on request, and depending on the case, supplements may apply. The accommodation has a luggage storage service, and in case you don't want to worry about meals, they also prepare packed lunches. In the accommodation, bicycles are rented and you can consult the staff for adventure activities, entertainment, massages or simply information of interest about the area, so you can have all the services and information you need to venture into these parts.

The area where the house is located, on a farm that rises to more than 1000 meters, offers splendid views of the surrounding landscape, full of trees, fields and mountains.

In the town of Taberno, in addition to being interested in its natural routes, we can try traditional dishes, such as migas del pastor, and visit the Museo del Campo and its splendid church.

Not far away we can find the Spanish-German astronomical observatory of Calar Alto, founded in 1973, which is open to the public and offers access to its facilities to show the history and advances that this construction has led to.

At 45 minutes we can find Mojácar, a charming town with picturesque houses and cozy beaches, as well as a great tourist offer, which includes numerous cultural activities and restaurants with typical Andalusian cuisine. If it is beaches that the guest is looking for, those of the Costa del Sol are not far away, and they may even want to venture to Malaga to visit them.

The house is located an hour's walk from the Sierra María-Los Vélez Natural Park, a mountainous massif full of routes and viewpoints of great interest, as well as cultural and archaeological heritage of great importance, such as the Cueva de los Letreros, where the famous figure of the Indalo is located, and the castle of Vélez Blanco.

In an hour we can also reach the Cabo de Gata Park, with delicious coasts, impressive cliffs and a beautiful lighthouse that offers spectacular views, where sitting down to enjoy a sunset is something that should not be overlooked.
