Casa Rural El Bujio

In Extremadura, south of the province of Cáceres is Valencia de Alcántara, municipality where our accommodation is located.

About 150 years have passed since its construction and some time later we wanted to rehabilitate it to turn it into a comfortable holiday home. Its thick stone walls and stairs as well as its wooden ceilings define the traditional style of the Extremadura country houses that we have preserved with so much care.

It is located inside a ecological farm of more than 25 hectares whose corners have been able to respect the environment that surrounds it to the maximum. Oak groves, chestnut trees and many other species of trees are spread throughout the farm. Small springs and streams bathe the land, so in the months of good weather the walks inside are pleasant.

If there is something special about the accommodation, it is the location, totally isolated, surrounded by vegetation and just 3 kilometers from the municipality.

The common areas are distributed on the ground floor. Here we find the fully equipped kitchen, the bathroom and two differentiated areas: on the one hand, the dining area, with a large large-capacity table and next to it the living room, the warmest place in the house as it has a fireplace.

The upper floor houses the 3 bedrooms . Tall of them doubles, two with single beds and one with a double bed, with the possibility of incorporating extra beds. For the convenience of visitors, all of them have a bathroom inside. On this floor there is also space for a small living room.
The outdoor area is perfectly used. In it you will find a terrace equipped with garden furniture from where you can contemplate the granite pool. There is also ponds and a multitude of fruit trees that will fill the farm with colors and smells.

The location of the farm, near the Sierra de San Pedro, allows you to enjoy a perfect climate both in summer and winter. The fact of being completely isolated favors walks through the interior, since its ecological character has allowed it to be plagued by streams, springs, rock formations and an endless number of trees that make up the dehesa of Extremadura.

In autumn will be able to pick chestnuts and in summer although the house has a pool, the streams will be the perfect excuse to cool off on the way.

An area of ​​special protection for the birds, which they will be able to contemplate if they go up to the Hermitage of the Virgen de la Cabeza. From there the views of the fortresses of the towns in the area and even of Portugal are spectacular.
