Casa Rural Montefrío

This country house is located at Cortegana, a small Andalusian town belonging to the province of Huelva. The house is part of a farm in which are located 3 other houses independent of each other. This house, like the others, has recently been restored with chestnut, brick and stone wood, so they blend perfectly with the environment and respect the surrounding architecture.

Montefrío has capacity for 8 people distributed in 4 double bedrooms, 2 with double bed and 2 with single beds. The house also has the following rooms:

• 2 bathrooms shared and fully equipped to meet all your needs.

• A spacious living room furnished with a long table with seating for 8 people in which to enjoy long meals, and comfortable sofas in which to spend quiet evenings in the heat of the wood fireplace or watching a movie in the TV.

• A kitchen with counter that leads to the living room and fully equipped with all appliances that make the kitchen more comfortable and faster today, among which are a refrigerator to preserve food, a microwave to heat the milk of the breakfast and a vitrocerámica para perform delicious dishes.

• A terrace from which to contemplate the beautiful views of the surroundings and where you can enjoy breakfast and meals while you feel the Huelva breeze on your face.

• A garden in which to sunbathe and relax and in which to enjoy succulent barbecues.

There is a pool shared with the Misolete house, which is located in the same building as Montefrío, which is accessed by an exterior staircase.

The house also has heating to enjoy it in the winter months.

The farm also specializes in agro-tourism and allows its guests to contribute to activities related to agriculture and livestock. Depending on the period in which the stay is made, these activities may vary from donkey rides, which will be able to appreciate the real life of the field, to sowing and harvesting of vegetables, through the care of the animals of the farm that includes learning to milking goats.

In addition, the Iberian pig also lives in the farm, where you can follow the life of these animals, as well as the ham manufacturing process. It also offers a tasting and explains how to cut a ham and its consequences for its presentation and flavor.

Cortegana is a municipality located within the Natural Park Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche, in the province of Huelva. The Natural Park is characterized by its forests of oaks and cork oaks, where different native and protected species coexist, such as the Iberian lynx, the ginetas or the black storks.

For cultural tourism we encourage you to walk the streets of the municipality. The main monument is the Castle del XIII century, which remains preciosimante illuminated during the celebration of our medieval fair. Several churches and hermitages complete the heritage of Cortegana.

A little more than 50 kilometers away are Mines of Ríotinto. In the vicinity the landscape reminds our satellite, in fact many compare it to the lunar landscape.
