Casa Rural Niajo

In the heart of Valle de Sajambre, in León, in the town of Oseja, we reformed, a few years ago, a house that was more than 200 years old. In the current house,, which faithfully follows the Sajambriega architectural tradition, with walls raised in stone and wooden floors, we distribute furniture carved in wood, very comfortable and stylish, among high-end appliances range, and we provide exclusive services. All this, under a decoration based on vases and other rustic elements, which give a traditional and very personality to the house.

In total, we offer our clients 2 different homes, very similar in their external appearance, surrounded by beautiful patios, but subtly different through the front door. This one, divided into 2 floors, has, like its "sister", a large kitchen, dining area and lounge on the ground floor, but it differs from the previous one in that it has 2 double bedrooms on its floor superior, where there is also a spacious bathroom completely equipped.

• Upon entering the house you will find the kitchen, a spacious and functional room, which stands out for its beautiful cabinets with polished wooden tops, in which practical toaster, coffee maker, blender or juicer are kept, in addition to some staple foods, such as salt or coffee, between the kitchenware and beautiful crockery and cutlery . For cooking, we have arranged a modern set of appliances in the room, with ceramic hob, a large refrigerator with space to store the coldest products, a microwave and a oven with several trays.

• Continuing towards the interior of the house, a wide corridor opens up, in which there is a beautiful wooden table as a dining room, preceding an area with a large sofa adorned with some cushions, various cabinets with board games, television, and, as the central point of the room, a cozy fireplace that works with firewood. The room, of course, is decorated in detail with beautiful vessels and rustic elements. X

• In front of the comfortable sofa there is a beautiful wooden staircase , matching the style of the rest of the house, which allows access to the upper floor, where, in addition to the bathroom that we mentioned at the beginning, the 2 bedrooms. one of them with a double bed, with pretty bedside tables on both sides on which there are cozy lamps, that will be very pleasant for those who like to read at night. The other room is a large single bed, for the total comfort of the clients.

• Around the beds, there are some chairs and ample built-in wardrobes, some of them with mirrors, with all the necessary space for clothes and shoes, between their hangers and drawers, as well as warm blankets and clean sheets, that serve as replacement to those with which we dress the mattresses before the arrival of our guests.

• On the beds, guests will find comfortable towels that they can use in the bathroom, where they will also have a practical hairdryer. X

Our clients, when choosing our house, not only do so for the comforts and services that we offer in its spacious interior spaces, but also for the possibility of living in an environment of pure air, which they will be able to enjoy on a small terrace, where we have arranged some garden furniture and a useful barbecue .

Oseja de Sajambre is the capital of the towns that make up the Valle de Sajambre, located north of the mountains that make up the Cantabrian Mountains, in the province of León, and where the Sella River rises.

In the municipality, surrounded by high mountains, the peaks of Peña Baeza, Canto Cabronero, and Pico Pozúa stand out, in addition to having beautiful roads, such as the so-called Senda del Arcediano, Roman road that passes, between other places, where the parish church of Oseja was formerly located. This was raised, for its exclusive use, by the counts of Flainez, and has been replaced by the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption.

But this, although it is the main monument of the town, is not the only one. A beautiful hermitage, that of San Roque, was built back in the XVI, century and later rebuilt. In 1738, also, some neighbors founded here the chaplaincy of San Roque and Nuestra Señora de Belén, where spiritual assistance was provided to the neighbors and "grammar" classes were given.

When taking a walk through the town visiting these monuments, as well as beautiful stately homes, such as that of the Piñán, in addition to the building that today houses the City Hall, it is worth stopping at the beautiful traditional houses, built with stone and wood, the traditional elements of this area. The streets dress up for parties in the summer months, June and August, when the popular festivals of the region are celebrated, and in October, when an interesting fair takes place, in which there are exhibitions and they can taste the typical dishes of the area.
