It has more than 9,000 habitants called “Segorbinos” and is known for being an important shopping centre alongside its patrimony.

In terms of religious patrimony, the Basilic Cathedral is what stands out most that dates to the 18th century and can be found beside the wall. It was built upon what was once a mosque and, in its structure, you can still see the original roman and gothic influences.
The land is filled with a great number of churches, the main ones being the San Martín, San Joaquín and Santa Ana, all baroque style churches. However, the oldest of them all from the 18th century is called San Pedro and has been previously refurbished.
In terms of the civil patrimony, we must highlight the wall and aqueduct from the 14th and 18th centuries as well as the Verónica Arch and the Botxí and Cárcel towers, both from the 14th century.
In the highest part you’ll find the Estrella Castle, also known as the Sopeña Castle, which is years old and, without a doubt, one of the best places to take photos where you’ll be accompanied with views of its surroundings right at your feet.
Within those surroundings you’ll be able to visit the town council building which was originally an old Palace property of the Duke of Segorbe as well as the fountain of Cincuenta Caños in the town centre.
The life of Segorbe can be explored within a day, visiting the local market which takes place every Thursday where you can buy all different types of products. You can also experience its traditions and festivities.
When are the festivities in Segorbe? This town’s calendar has a few festive periods, but without a doubt the patron festivals are the star of the show, they are especially attractive to international tourists thanks to the bulls and horses in August.
In December the Feria de la Inmaculada is celebrated, which is when there are a lot of street food vendors and stalls and attractions for the little ones.
Are you wondering what the best way to get here is? You can get here by a few means of transport. The most comfortable way would be to come by car, but there’s also a bus and a train that go from Segorbe to Castellón which have very frequent timetables.
