Cortijo los Llanos

On the outskirts of Monachil , in the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada de Granada , stands this traditional farmhouse from the year 1890 , completely restored to serve as rural accommodation in the middle of the wonders of the region. Close to the cultural and activity centers of Granada , it is a wonderful choice to visit this part of Andalusia and its most endearing places.
The original farmhouse was named after the family that owns it, and at first it only consisted of a house; Later it was expanded to a total of 3 homes, following the original style, layout and materials, preserving its rustic and traditional air. All the houses have been rehabilitated, putting comfort and functionality as the key.
The Barn , the main house that makes up the original house, has space for 4 people in its 2 bedrooms, both double with 90 single beds, as well as built-in wardrobes to store all the belongings and bedside tables; Both also have a window to the outside, and a rural style that is reflected in the furniture, the sober decoration and the bedding.
The dining room is spacious enough to house a table with several chairs, a wood-burning fireplace and a television. The sofa that contains, in addition, becomes a bed, so that it is possible to accommodate one more person, prior notice.

The kitchen , in a separate room, is spacious and bright, with a stove, microwave , a coffee maker and refrigerator; In short, all the equipment and kitchenware necessary to eat without depending on third parties.
The bathroom of the house has a shower tray and bidet, as well as a mechanical ventilation system , which keeps it ventilated and the environment sanitized.


The Pozo is one of the rehabilitated houses, and the largest of the three in the farmhouse. It has capacity for 6 people among its 3 bedrooms . One of them has a double bed , which makes it the main bedroom, and a closet; the other 2 are double, with a pair of single beds and one of them with wardrobe as well. All rooms also contain nightstands and windows that face the exterior, discreet and with dark wood frames, that give light to the room and provide good lighting.
El dining room, spacious and bright, also has television and wood stove. There is a table with enough chairs for the occupants and, in addition, an old radio that gives an old and rustic touch to the room.

Independent of the living room and the rest of the rooms is the kitchen , very spacious and fully equipped, without missing microwave or refrigerator , nor workspace to cook calmly and without stress.

The bathroom in the house features a bathtub, and is complete with a bidet, toilet and sink. The window that illuminates it overlooks the outside, and is small enough to maintain discretion in this intimate room.
At the entrance to the house there is a porch with a barbecue, a large table and excellent views of both the farmhouse grounds and the surroundings.
The Leñera , despite its name, is not so small or more modest than the other houses. Of its 2 bedrooms , one has a double bed and the other 2 single beds ; neither of the 2 lacks bedside tables, wardrobe and window to the outside. There is a total space for 4 people, who will be comfortably installed.

The living room has a discreet wood stove, facing the sofa bed, and next to the television . The sloping ceiling and wooden beams give it that rustic charm shared by the three accommodations.
The kitchen is integrated with the dining room, in an open concept, office type, and despite its modesty it does not lack anything: it has a microwave, refrigerator and stove.

The bathroom , with exterior window, has shower tray , completely closed with screen, bidet and toilet. The exterior porch , through which you enter the house, is roofed and has garden furniture ; its slightly elevated position gives it a privileged view over the terrain.
The 3 houses have a series of common services. All of them have bedding, sheets included, as well as towels and a load of firewood for the fireplaces and stoves, and a common laundry area. They also have the possibility of making use of the facilities of the farmhouse and the surroundings, including the swimming pool and the grounds.

Granada is only 3 kilometers from the farmhouse, so visiting it is an option that should not be missed. The city is a unique sample of Arab art and architecture, and the Alhambra is a must for anyone who is spending a season in the vicinity.

Monachil , the town in whose municipal area the farmhouse is located, is a charming rural enclave whose routes of hanging bridges the guest should not miss; los Cahorros , in the town, is a gorge with waterfalls that can be crossed by one.
Guadix , also close to the accommodation, is another cultural point that should be visited, especially for its large church and beautiful architecture. We also have Pradollano , 20 kilometers away, with the ski resort with the most hours of sunlight in Spain.
The Sierra Nevada Natural Park is another space to visit: full of local fauna and flora, it stands out however for its beautiful landscapes, which include lakes, streams and distant snow-covered peaks.
