El Molino de Torquemada

This rural house, as its name indicates, is located in Torquemada. It was built in the XIII century, although many books speak of its existence since the time of the Romans.

It was built at first to grind the wheat from the surrounding fields and even today its original structure and the wineries where these works were made are still preserved. Later, in the nineteenth century, it became the electricity supplier of the entire region.

Now it is a wonderful rural accommodation in which can stay up to 10 people and enjoy these historical signs that we have preserved very carefully. This way you can see the winery with the mills totally intact, as well as the electricity generators that were used, now located in the exterior areas of the house.

The winery today can be used for different celebrations and has a capacity of up to 60 people.

Continuing with the outdoor areas, the different gardens that can be enjoyed are all charming, as well as the river that collides with the back of the rural house. Above it, on the second floor of the accommodation, stands a balcony that from its heights seems as if it were sailing.

And finally highlight that walk of majestic stairs next to the river that lead to the entrance of the house as if it were a palace.

Once inside we find another of the most beautiful areas, a spacious Jacuzzi surrounded by stone and with a huge window that gives the feeling of being bathing among the trees. The use of this space entails an additional price.

The rural accommodation has 5 rooms, all for two people, 3 bathrooms, a living room of 50m2 and a large kitchen with bar to the dining room.

On a terrace you can find barbecue and covered area for meals.

To finish completing the amenities, we have heating, wi-fi, cots and we admit the entry of pets. In addition, we offer you the possibility of offering meals and cleaning service.

Torquemada is a very fertile land thanks to which it is located between the rivers of Arlanza and Pisuerga. What has made its inhabitants cultivate numerous gardens and giving as a star product the pepper that gets its name.

In addition there are many fields of cereals and has a lot of interest in wine. This is how wineries have been created that initially were for their own consumption but now begin to be known and wines are sold.

Among its monuments include the building of the City Council, a construction of the sixteenth century known by the name of Palace of the Irons. As well as a Romanesque bridge with 25 openings through which the river runs.

There are also some ecclesiastical buildings with imposing structures, such as the hermitage of La Piedad, the 13th century church of Santa Cruz or the XV century of Santa Eulalia.
