El Portón

This country house, of robust appearance and built in the rustic way in stone and wood, rests in the town of Miengo, in Cantabria, in a privileged location for its proximity to Santander and the center of Cantabria.

With its 3 floors, it has everything that may be required to enjoy a rest and relaxation stay, since it is equipped with all the necessary services, and can accommodate both families and large groups. Inside the property there is a parking area, so that the guest will not have to worry about finding a place to leave their vehicle.

It has a total capacity for 10 people in its 5 double rooms, although it has the possibility of accommodating 2 more in individual extra beds. The bedrooms each have their style, color and detail, and a window that opens to the outside. One of the bedrooms is located in the attic, and enjoys the greatest possible privacy, as well as a small seating area with two armchairs.

On the ground floor you will find a curious and collected room, which appears just across the entrance, and which is composed of a brand new wood fireplace y 2 sofas, facing a flat screen TV. It is the perfect place to meet and spend some time when you do not want to leave the house.

Then, from this room we went to the dining room, with a large table, a wooden bench and several chairs, in a space with light and decorated with autumnal motifs. Through an arch you enter the kitchen, well provided with how many utensils may be necessary so that guests do not miss the homemade food.

The house has 4 bathrooms, attached to the 4 rooms on the first floor, and a toilet on the ground floor.

Outside we have a porch with rustic garden furniture, and on it a balcony overlooking the peaks of Europe. We can enjoy a vast private garden , with a brick barbecue y diaphanous space to run, play or take to the air and enjoy a moment of peace in a natural and intimate environment.

Miengo is a unique rural enclave, surrounded by the waters of the Cantabrian Sea to the north and to the west by the Ría de San Martín de la Arena. It has 5 beaches and several architectural works, such as the Palace of Torre Herrera, and other formations, such as Cueva de Cudón, declared of cultural interest.

The perfect communication of the house with dual carriageway A67 brings you to many places and urban enclaves of Cantabria, including Santander and Torrelavega, which can be reached in less than 15 minutes.

In 20 minutes can be planted in the Parque de la Naturaleza de Cabárceno, with their animals in semi-liberty coexisting in a landscape naturalized by the hand of man.

In little more than an hour can be found at Santillana del Mar, and from there to Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera, to visit the most emblematic cities of the Cantabrian coast.

If you decide to visit the interior of the region, you can choose to visit Puente Viesgo and its spa, or go through the Valley of Cabuérniga to reach the Parque Natural Saja-Besaya, with impressive views starring the rivers that give name to the park.
