El Retiro de San Pedro

The accommodation is located in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos, very close to Ávila.

It is a rural house composed of good eating and relaxing.

The environment, made up of cork oaks, olive trees and chestnut trees, will help you disconnect during the days that you are with us, which we hope will be many so that you can enjoy everything that our town offers and, in addition, we will be happy to offer you the best cuisine traditional made in our kitchens with 100% natural products from our land.

Don't worry about looking for someone to take care of your pet, we will be happy to receive your pets because they also deserve to enjoy a good vacation.

Of the 7 rooms, 3 of them have a double bed, the other 4 have 2 single beds. We have the option of adding an extra bed to any bedroom for an additional cost. It is also important to highlight that all rooms are perfectly conditioned to receive people with reduced mobility.

In the common areas you can enjoy a beautiful garden that shows the varied flora of the area. In fact, we believe that there is no better way to start the day than taking a short walk through our park after having a good breakfast in our restaurant.

We also serve lunches and dinners, although we will be happy to welcome you at any time of the day for a coffee or refreshment with a beer.

We also have a large terrace, which is highly advisable for taking a breath of fresh air or enjoying the landscape, but if you prefer, you can relax in our pool, a favorite place for our guests, especially during the months when the heat is severe.

Our house is located in a strategic place since it is very close to the treasures of the Sierra de Gredos but you don't have to travel many km to visit some of the most charming towns on the Peninsula, such as Arenas de San Pedro, El Arenal, Guisando or Cinco Villas. Honestly, we doubt that you want to go a little further because only with what you have to see in the area you will have an entertaining and fun vacation. Be sure to visit sites like:

• The natural pools of Arenas de San Pedro, a luxury for those who are hot and can't wait to get to our Retiro to take a dip. Admission is free.

• Eagle Caves: located south of Ávila, in the Tiétar Valley, these caves, which are more than 3 million years old, contain curious formations such as columns, stalactites or gours. An authentic natural spectacle that you cannot miss. Admission costs 7.5 euros per person.

• The castle of the sad countess: In this castle, located in Arenas de San Pedro, Juana Pimentel, the widow of Álvaro de Luna, lived after her husband went from being one of the most powerful men in Castile to being executed on the scaffold. This fortification houses numerous legends, do you dare to discover them?
