Azcona is a village in Navarre with 84 inhabitants located in the valley of Yerri. It is a typical village of the Sierra de Navarra media, full of Renaissance and medieval buildings, such as the palace of Azcona. It is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and cereal fields that are the economic sustenance of the villages of the valley.

The valley of Yerri limits by the north with the mountain range of Andía, an extensive plateau that, along with the Mountain range of Urbasa, forms from 1997 the Natural Park of Urbasa-Andía. The park, plagued by forests of beech, meadows and mountains, hides numerous secrets that can be discovered by walking inside. One of these secrets is the Nacedero del río Urederra, which forms a spectacular waterfall.

Very close to this area is the sierra de Aralar, which extends to Guipúzcoa, and which forms a series of caves and simas. These formations, together with the Txindoki peak, make this mountain range the ideal place for speleologists and climbers.
