In the surrounding area are the Fuerte y Dolmen of Santa Elena, sites from different periods of history dedicated to Elena of Constantinople.
If we continue further into the heart of the Tena Valley, we can find the Ibón de Piedrafita, a glacial lake bellow the nearby mountains. Finally, in Jaca de Piedrafita you can visit the Parque Faunístico de la Cuniacha, where you can see animals of the regional fauna living in freedom, giving you postcard views of the Tena Valley.
And what kind of activities can you do here? Well, speaking of the Tena Valley, here you can find one of the longest zip-line in the Pyrenees, which runs along a 950-metre path at a height of more than 120 meters.
On your way back, you can return to the hotel or country house where you have decided to stay and rest. All of them offer comfortable and warm facilities for you to recharge your batteries, and there are plenty of inns and restaurants where you can order a plate of boliches de Biescas, a hearty dish of beans with potatoes and rice.
If you are lucky enough to come in May or October you can enjoy the Biescas fairs, which include popular tastings, botanical routes, and lots of fun activities for both children and adults.
But the best part comes between the 14th and 18th of August, which is the patron saint's festival in honor of Santa Elena, and the street parades of floats and fire bulls. Impressive, isn't it?
