La Velada

Our accommodation is located in the municipality of Leon de Luyego de Somoza, in full region of the Maragatería.

Originally from the century XIX and with the façade covered in stone, the house was rehabilitated en 1999 becoming what it is today, a traditional holiday home. As well as the facade, we decided to preserve other characteristic elements such as the wood of the ceilings or the oven that preserves the kitchen. You can come to lodge until 8 people.

The wooden gate of the entrance communicates with a roofed garage that still retains the farming tools of another era. Communicate directly with the yard. A coquettish and cobblestone space, characterized by the well y the vines that cover the wall and the balcony of the first floor. It has tables and chairs to enjoy a barbecue outdoors.

The house was built to 2 heights. The 4 bedrooms are spacious and very warm. One of its walls is raised in stone and has large windows through which light is reflected. For greater comfort, 2 bathrooms are distributed by their plants.

The kitchen is a traditional space but equipped with all the necessary services -electrical appliances and utensils and cooking utensils-. In the room you will find a large table that separates it from the living room, cozy corner for its wooden beam ceilings in which the sofas are arranged around the fireplace.

If something characterizes the region of the Maragatería is the great architectural wealth that many of its people preserve. We recommend a walk through the streets of Somoza o Castrillo, para imbibe the culture and enjoy their holidays. Well known is the feast of Los Remedios, which can go without leaving Luyego.

The house lies at the foot of the Sierra del Teleno an environment with multiple tourist possibilities which also fishing and bathing in el Duerna possible.

If you move away a little more, you will meet the walled Astorga, perfect to taste the cooked maragato auténtico and visit the cathedral or place Gaudí Palace.
