Las Cabañas de Barrios

This old house in the municipality of Villadiego in Burgos has been reformed recientemente, whilst retaining all the original structure and materials: stone walls, beams and wooden ceilings, rustic furniture ... Everything is combined in this farm to endow it with an old and rural character, in an environment of low houses and extensive green fields.

The property, situated on a large enclosed plot with wall and gate, consists de 3 separate buildings, which can rented completely or separately: the Big House, which is the main house and the largest of the buildings with 2 floors and more breadth; the Big Cabin, a construction of smaller size and a single plant; and La Hornera, an old bread-making house, converted into a modest stone hut.

The Big House, with its 4 rooms, has room for 7 people. One of the rooms is individual, a cozy and private room, called Room of the Friar for its secluded situation and its architectural and decorative simplicity; another is a room with a double bed, with its own exclusive bathroom; the remaining 2 rooms are double, with cheerful and bright tones.

The living room is a cozy space, to which the wood fireplace contributes with its most modern line, and the warm tones help to generate a sense of peace. Here we also find a sofa bed, to accommodate an additional guest, and a wooden armchair.

The kitchen , discreet and efficient design, has una hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher, yet available when preparing meals. This kitchen gives access to the bathroom on the ground floor, complete and bright, with a window to the outside. It also has washing machine, TV and heating.

The Large Cabin, small and outdated appearance, however, enjoys all the comforts that the guest may need. In his double room can accommodate 2 people in twin beds, and also has a solid wood desk and Your wheelchair, both under the window rustic wooden swing leaves hierro.

The kitchen, with tiles and decoration in green tones that contrast with wood and give a natural air, has all the necessary equipment. The bathroom has shower tray, and tiles on part of the walls, the rest being stone, and ceramic toilets, with white furniture. This house also has, like the big one, washing machine and heating.

Hornera is a small room with only a double room and a complete bathroom annex, with bathtub. It is a very intimate space, ideal for couples who do not have time or do not want to devote themselves to cooking during their stay, and have planned to spend more time touring the sites that surround the property.

The 3 houses share a common zone of host, which can be used to rest or enjoy a meal. The garden, of 1500 square meters, has a camping area for the summer, where to contemplate the sunsets on the field. There is also, next to the woodshed, a barbecue area and a picnic area, and garden furniture distributed around the cabins.

The environment where the property is located is a perfect enclave to dedicate outdoor activities, among which are the routes by bicycle and riding (from the town of Ailanes, very close), and hiking and trekking.

The area is high presence of mushrooms and mushrooms, so the mycological walks are another activity very practiced by the area.

Villadiego, 38 kilometers from Burgos, is a charming town with noble tradition since the year 884.
