Las Médulas is located in the region of El Bierzo which forms part of the province of León and that belongs to the municipality of Carucedo. It’s one of the best places to visit as it counts on one of the country’s natural gems.
The Natural Monument of Las Médulas is without a doubt a lure that attracts a lot of tourism in the area but, what are they and how can you find them? The guided visit starts at the Visitor Centre and will take you to one of the mining operation areas from the Roman ages, which is the Circo de las Viñas. How long does the visit take? It will take approximately two hours to complete 3km there and back inside one of the mines where you’ll get a talk and get to know the history and lots of interesting facts about the mine.
