Get in the car and drive to Valle de los Arcos (Valle del Arcs). Once there, find this farmhouse from 5 centuries ago and hide in the middle of a natural park: Garrotja.

Completely rehabilitated, you can book one of the 5 apartments with capacity for 4 or 6 people, or stay in your cabin completely independent of the main house with space for 6 inhabitants. Its rooms are:

• In the accommodation for 4 people there is one room with a double bed and another with 2 single beds. 

• On the other hand, in the others there are 2 double rooms as well as one double room.

Inside, the large spaces in light tones with wooden beams on the ceilings stand out. The rustic style stands out in every corner of them, equipped with beds that will have wooden headboards, sheets and blankets with which to tuck you in at dusk to enjoy a restful rest. Next to them there will be tables with a night lamp as well as cabinets in which you can store your luggage. There will also be chairs in which to rest and heating to adjust the temperature of the room to your liking. 

Both the farmhouse and the independent cabin are completely renovated and with an exterior facade of exposed stone. In both there are large solid wood windows as well as the shutters, which give you that rural feeling of the houses of yesteryear. The same as the large decorative iron wheels placed on the façade of the main room, which evoke the wheels of the carriages of yesteryear and which have been known since the 16th century. For its part, in the interior you will find:

• They are accommodations in which white tones and wooden beams on the ceilings stand out. The clarity and large spaces are the main characteristics of their spaces. 

• They all have a fully equipped bathroom with towels as well as accessories and a shower tray or bathtub. In the cabin there is also a toilet. 

• In the apartments for 4 the living room is integrated into the kitchen. They are large spaces where there are comfortable sofas in front of the television and the fireplace that will warm the room. There is also a wooden table and the kitchen will have everything you need to make your best meals. 

• In the other 2 accommodations the kitchen will have its own space in addition to having the appliances and kitchenware necessary to make your best dishes. For its part, in the spacious living-dining room, the sofas with green or red tones will stand out. The wood-burning fireplace and the television are located in front of where you can watch your favorite programs. The dining area is behind them. 

You will spend a few days of disconnection and fun cooking the best meats and vegetables in the outdoor barbecue, located in the large garden of the farmhouse where you can also enjoy its outdoor pool. Bathe near a herd of cows? This question may make you smile or look surprised, but here it is possible. Of course, they are not on the property itself, although if they are visible, you can “bathe” with them. What the little ones will surely like.

They will also be able to spend all their energy in the children's play area, with large tubes in which they will hide, and basketball baskets where they can play “21” or “ko shot”. Your pets can fly around at will, they can accompany you without any problem and they are totally welcome. What better place for them to have fun than the countryside!

Horse carriages are no longer plentiful and it would be difficult to get there with them, but so that you can store your vehicle there is a covered parking and also a parking area in case you have a visitor.

For the cold months of winter the heat is assured thanks to the teminating insulation, to the heating that is in all the rooms and for the wood fireplace that is in the dining room. The apartment also has kitchen equipada.

This apartment with capacity for 6 people is inside the main building. Constra 3 bedrooms, one with double bed, and other 2 rooms with 2 single beds of 90 centimeters each. There is the option of adding an extra bed, but only one per dwelling. In each apartment there is a full bathroom.

Come to Santa Pau, a Catalan municipality located in the region of La Garrocha north of Girona.

You will discover a   town full of walls, irregular streets and corners with the charm of the medieval era. They are so special that the town was named Historic-Artistic Complex in 1971.

And if between walks you get hungry, the obligatory dish you should order is the Sant Pau beans, or beans. They are planted in May and harvested more or less for the feast of the Virgin in August, so we already know when to go.
