Peña El Tejo

This beautiful house of 2 floors is located at Cardaño de Abajo, a small town in the municipality of Velilla del Río Carrión (Palencia) .

The house can accommodate up to 10 people since it has 4 double rooms, all with 2 single beds in each. In addition, you can add 2 extra beds, to travel with more people.

In the house, you can find up to 3 bathrooms, all complete, with bathtubs.
The house is decorated in a classic way and has the following common areas:

The kitchen, made of wood. In it, you can find a table with chairs, perfect for you to have breakfast in this room and take your strength for a day of sightseeing. In addition, we have different appliances that you can use at any time. Some of them are washing machine, refrigerator, microwave to prepare fast foods or a oven. We also have utensils and utensils to facilitate the work of cooking and crockery to eat.

As for the dining room, it is a stay with 2 different areas:

• On the one hand, you will find the dining area, where you have a table with wooden chairs and capacity for 10 people.
• On the other hand, there is the lounge area, ideal to rest, chat or read a good book while enjoying the heat that contributes the stone fireplace to this room. You can enjoy other furniture such as armchairs, rocking chairs, a side table and relax quietly to watch the television.

In addition to the fireplace, throughout the house there is central heating, very important for fresquito castellanoleonés.

On the top floor, we have a nice terrace, wooden, which has great views to the village and the natural environment. From there you can sit down to see the stars on summer nights thanks to the furniture that is in it or sit down for a coffee after eating.

Already in the outer zone, we have:

• A large garden, with large lawn areas muy careful, so that you sentence to chat.
• A barbecue area, where you can roast meat, make grilled vegetables and eat it all in the outdoor furniture that surrounds our garden.
• We also have a parking area for our guests. In this one can fit up to 3 cars.

This country house is Ideal for nature lovers of height since Cardaño de Abajo is a mountain village located at an altitude of around 1350 meters above sea level, in the valley of the peak Espigüete ( which measures 2,500 m at its highest point), in full Parque Natural de Fuentes Carrionas and Fuente Cobre, in the region of the Mountain Palencia. It is an area very rich in flora, with several endemic species and fauna (wolves, deer, bears).

If what you prefer is nature tourism, in our environment abounds. On the one hand, you can do the Swamps Route. This route is made through the mountainous areas of northern Palencia. It lasts about 55 km, although you can choose which swamps to visit. Some of them are: that of Compuerto, of Camporredondo or that of Ruesga.

If you like to ski, you can go to practice this sport at a station near us. The station is Alto de Campoo.
