Posada El Cafetín

We found this magnificent inn in the middle of the narrow pass of La Hermida, in Cantabria, between high mountains and with the river Deva crossing the small town. Built in 1900, it was initially a family home with a cafeteria, of which the inn adopted the name after to restore the building in 2004 and to qualify it as an inn.

With a rustic style with airs of nobility, and an excellent quality in the wooden beams and the walls of stone and exposed brick, it accommodates a total of 14 people in its 7 double rooms with double bed. There is the possibility of renting the whole house, for 10 or 14 people.

These rooms are spacious, with excellent lighting from the large windows and balconies available, with views of the mountains and the river. With a distinctive style in each, they have what the guest may need to not want to leave them: wardrobe, armchairs, desk ... They are complemented, in addition, by the presence of a XX internet access, guarantee that there will be no need to get bored even if you stay in your room.

Except for the 2 rooms on the ground floor, which share a bathroom, each room on the first floor has its own bathroom, with colors and decoration in the style of the bedroom they accompany. To the sanitary, the washbasin and the shower tray are added storage furniture, to keep the toilet products and computer saved.

On the ground floor is has a kitchen completely equipped, joined to a dining room with space for 8 people. Annex, in what was the old cafeteria, there is another dining room with capacity for 20 people sitting at the tables. We serve breakfasts, for a supplement, but with an abundance of varied products and homemade style (in the accommodation by room mode)

Outside, the first stop will be the parking area, where the visitor's vehicle will remain. Surrounding the house there is a spacious terrace, with furniture to sit outdoors, and a barbecue (in the form of full house), which will help out of your magnificent room to the tenants.

Hermida, where this inn is located, is a center of great activity within the Picos de Europa, so you should not miss the opportunity to visit this natural park, dotted with viewpoints, amazing landscapes and virgin zones.

Continuing with the tourism by natural zones, to the southeast you will find the Natural Park Saja-Besaya, tour by the rivers that take those names, with a great landscape and environmental value for the flora and fauna that inhabit it.

Potes is at 15 minutes of the town, and is a rural enclave with charm declared historical-artistic set, with numerous parties and surrounded by valleys and mountains, where you can taste the famous cooked lebaniego.

San Vicente de la Barquera, 20 minutes, is a fishing village with a lot of charm, an unforgettable gastronomy and a port where you can practice many activities.

Comillas and Santillana del Mar are half an hour away, and in addition to its incredible beaches you should not miss its monuments and museums, of great cultural interest.
