Segorbe is a city located in the south of the province of Castellón whose old quarter has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. The most remarkable monument of this city is the Cathedral Basilica of Segorbe, built in the 13th century on the remains of an Andalusian mosque. The cathedral is built in early Gothic style, so it maintains some Romanesque elements. In addition to the temple, the cathedral has a Gothic cloister with a trapezoidal plan, one of the few in Spain that has this shape. This is because it is attached to the old wall.

This city preserves a large part of the defensive wall, built before the 13th century, which connects with an aqueduct built in the 14th century that brought water from the river to the town. Several of the entrances are still preserved in this wall, for example the Veronica, half a point, or the Botxi or Verdugo, where the residence of this professional was.

In Segorbe you can also see the Castillo de la Estrella, which is located in Sopeña, a mountain in the area. It began as a medieval fortress and reached its maximum splendor in the fifteenth century. Later it went into decline, and in the 19th century it was rebuilt again to defend the city against the Carlist troops. It has now been transformed into a public park.
