Welcome to Upper Normandy
If you want to enjoy some peace and quiet and relax in an area where you can do a lot of activities, we recommend that you travel to the region of Haute-Normandie, which is undoubtedly a spectacular corner of France that is worth visiting.
The region of Haute-Normandie together with Basse-Normandie make up today and since 2016 the region of Normandy as a whole. It is a territory in which we highlight the riverbank of the Seine, the most important river in France.
This is the northernmost part of the Normandy region, separated by the Seine River crossing the great bridge.
This region is divided in turn into two separate departments, the Seine-Maritime and the Eure, two areas worth visiting.
Don't think twice and enjoy this spectacular region where you will have the best holidays you can imagine.

What to see
As we have already mentioned, one of the must-sees on your visit in Haute-Normandie is the Pont de Normandie, which will allow you to keep in your mind the impressive landscapes that the Seine leaves dividing the two regions bordered by the famous English Channel.
Another option would be Le Havre, a city with its own harbour and a little more hectic activity than in its surrounding towns, and which was once quite an important industrial city.
Finally, Dieppe has historically been a holiday destination close to Paris and also to Britain that is also worth a visit.
And, just like these, you will find a ton more activities to do here.
What to eat
Normandy stands out for its proximity to the sea, with 600 kilometres of coastline, and green land for cultivation, which means that its gastronomy is enriched by many products from both land and sea.
Livestock farming is also very important, which is why dairy products such as cheese and desserts such as the teurgoule, a local variety of rice pudding, are well known.
Among the products that come from the sea are mussels or Moules à la normande and, even though seafood in general has a large presence in the local recipes here, we cannot forget about the delicious tender meats such as lamb or duck recipes.
As for drinks, a cider or eau-de-vie will be ideal to down this delicious menu.
Nature
The Haute-Normandie region has beaches close to the site of the Normandy Landings, although they are not sandy. But depending on the area you are in, you will have access to a wide variety of landscapes to enjoy.
Furthermore, in Haute-Normandie you will discover the Natural Park of Les Boucles de la Seine Normande, full of forests and waterways that will transport you to a fairy-tale. But if we are talking about natural spots and good panoramic views, the Etretat Cliffs will provide you with incredible seascape.
But if hiking isn't your thing, taking you a cruise across the Seine is also an excellent idea. Climb aboard a barge or a boat and let yourself be seduced by the breath-taking natural landscapes around you from the water.
Our festivities
In Haute-Normandie, there are a few dates marked in the calendar that are the result of its history, resulting in a rather varied festive culture.
Without a doubt, the commemoration of the Normandy Landings is one of those dates when there is a more festive atmosphere that is celebrated with the local gastronomy and music, and it is also one that is always loved among the inhabitants of the area as much as for tourists.
Also related to gastronomy is an ancestral celebration of the Apple and Cider Festival. Held during the months of September and October this festival offers a demonstration of the entire cider-making process, from the harvesting of the apples to the tasting of the cider.
